Mr. Fadi Jannan

Partner - Chief Executive Officer for Africa and Europe

Mr. Fadi is a seasoned expert in disaster risk reduction with over 25 years of experience in leadership within the United Nations system, international organizations, and the private sector. He is the Chief Executive Officer for Africa and Europe at MORVA L.L.C.  As the previous Deputy Chief of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction - Regional Office for Arab States (UNDRR), Mr. Fadi led the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in Arab countries. Building on his expertise in disaster risk reduction, Mr. Fadi was able to contribute to raising $10 million in funding during his tenure at UNDRR. He organized high-level regional conferences that shaped risk governance policies across the Arab region, including the regional platforms for disaster risk reduction held in several Arab countries since 2014, and the First Arab Africa Science, technology, policy & private sector nexus for disaster risk reduction conference organized in Tunis, Tunisia, under the auspices of H.E. the Prime Minister of Tunisia. He has also organized the Arab Partnership meetings for Disaster Risk Reduction twice a year since 2018. He has also established stakeholder groups for disaster risk reduction, such as the Arab Civil Society Group for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Arab Science and Technology Advisory Group for DRR, the Arab Gender and Women Empowerment Group for DRR, the Arab Children and Youth Group for DRR, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Arab Group for Persons with Disabilities, and the ARISE national private sector networks in a few countries such as ARISE network for DRR in Egypt and ARISE network for DRR in UAE.

Mr. Jannan leverages his expertise in disaster risk reduction, crisis management, strategic policy development, and resource mobilization to support cities, governments, regional organizations, and relevant stakeholders toward integrated resilience solutions. He is known for building strategic partnerships with intergovernmental organizations and delivering impactful capacity-building programs. His vision is for MORVA to become a global hub for smart solutions for risk reduction and sustainable resilience, leveraging innovation and bold leadership to protect communities worldwide.

Dr. Meshari Al Faras

Partner - Chief Executive Officer for America and Asia

Dr. Meshari is a distinguished expert in crisis and disaster management with over 20 years of experience in the Kuwait Fire Force. As a partner and the Chief Executive Officer for America and Asia, he leads innovative solutions to reduce disaster risk across the regions.

As the former national focal point for Kuwait with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, Dr. Al-Faras implemented the Sendai Framework at the national level. He established Kuwait's Scientific Methodology for Crisis Management and National Risk Register. His international experience includes participation with the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination Team during the 2023 Derna, Libya flood disaster, demonstrating his ability to respond to high-risk emergencies. Dr. Al-Faras holds a PhD in Disaster Management from the University of Salford, where his research developed a comprehensive disaster management framework that enhances Kuwait's resilience.

Dr. Al-Faras has chaired numerous international meetings and committees, such as the 10th Arab Partnership meeting for Disaster Risk Reduction, held in Kuwait with the participation of 19 Arab countries. He has also delivered various lectures and workshops to governmental and non-governmental entities, such as the Kuwait Fire Force, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, the Environment Public Authority, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Schlumberger, and the Ministry of Health in Kuwait. Dr. Al-Faras holds a PhD in Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Salford, Manchester, where his research developed a comprehensive disaster management framework to enhance resilience in Kuwait. He also holds a Master of Science in Crisis and Disaster Management, a Bachelor of Science in Fire Safety and Risk Management, and a Higher Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire, UK.
